Dickens Festijn
Hey People!
Last December 2014 I went to this festival called the Dickens Festijn in Deventer, Netherlands. To be exact this festival was held in Bergkwartier which is located in the center of Deventer. This is a yearly festival which represents the 19th century English town. In this festival, people dress up as the characters from Charles Dickens' novels, such as Great Expectations, A Christmas Carol and A Tale of Two Cities. For those who love to read his masterpieces probably can relate and are excited to attend this festival! Dickens Festijn usually is held around the 19th and 20th December every year. There are around 950 characters from beggars, orphans, police man until posh people can be found in this festival! you'll feel like you are traveling to the old time accompanied by Traditional old English songs~
Moreover you'll see old fashion bike with really humongous wheel, even you can try the vintage way to wash your clothes by pounding it with some kind of a big wood. And don't be afraid if suddenly you'll see someone with huge scars in their face haha :p
