Hey Peeps!

It has been several months since my last post so I decided to post some compilation on the city that I visited during my winter vacation 2015. My first destination is Warsaw which is the capital city of Poland. Why is it called an Alpha Global City? the reason is that Warsaw is considered as the important node in the global economic system. Interesting enough! So as a tourist, probably one or two days in Warsaw is sufficient to explore at least the major tourist destination. In my opinion, the city itself is more metropolitan than I thought it would be. Hereby I present you with travel guidance to Warsaw!

The Sala Kongresowa. The translation of it is Congress Hall which consist of approximately 3000 seats theater. Some music performances are held in this place such as The Rolling Stones, King Crimson, etc.

The above picture is the Muzeum Fryderyka Chopina which is known as Chopin Museum. Chopin is a famous Polish composer and a pianist of the Romantic Era. So I was really excited to be here as he is one of my favorite composer who mostly wrote for solo piano.

The Royal Palace near the Old Town. This palace is full of art collection, it was originally the king's personal office as well as the Royal Court's administrative offices back in 16th century. It was destructed due to the invasion of Poland in 1939 and reconstructed again in 1945 after the end of the war.

The King's Bedchamber

One of the painting in the ceiling of the Royal Castle. So majestic!

After half a day touring around the city, we found this ramen place near our hostel that is called Enoki Street Food. They serve a delicious ramen as their main menu with an affordable price especially for students! Enoki Street Food is located in Chmielna 2, Warszawa.

If you love salmon, I recommend you the salmon ramen (on the right side) which taste really unique and fresh! I promise you that it will leave you speechless :D

Christmas atmosphere in Nowy Swiat

Talking about travel, of course we should not forget to try their local food! Well I will recommend two fantastic places to have dinner in ;) So here we go, the first one is Specjaly Regionalne. This restaurant is located in Nowy Swiat 44, 00-363 Warszawa. You can check it out through their website specjalyregionalne.pl . They will serve you with a really traditional kind of Polish food. Below is one of their top menu.

This is Bigos, the combination of sauerkraut and meat, even the potato itself is superb! In English it is also called as Polish hunter's stew, which has cabbage as the main ingredient.

The top picture is the second restaurant that I am talking about, this restaurant can be found in every corner of Poland (literally!). They serve the most spectacular Pierogi that I've ever eaten ;)

Okay so what is Pierogi?? Pierogi is the Polish Dumplings which can be filled with any types of filling such as meat, mushrooms and sauerkraut. The above picture is the fried Pierogi with cream and parsley as the filling. While the below picture is the common Pierogi with the filling of meat and mushroom, additionally cheese cream is added as the sauce.

You should also try the soup which is called the Zurek soup. It has a delicate sour taste.

The left picture above is the traditional drink of Poland. Kompot is consisted of the juice of apple, pear, dried plums and raisins which then cooked with cloves, cinnamon, honey and lemon peel. On the right side is just an additional dessert that is great to complete your meal at the end of the day. It is just a simple brownie which also resemble lava cake with a cherry filling.

Huge Christmas tree in the Old Town

So that is the end of my journey in Warsaw, I hope you enjoy this article and I also hope that it is useful as your travel guidance if you want to visit Warsaw one day ;D

Cheers,
Rona
