 Dear People,

This time, I would like to take you to Naarden! The city that is known for its antique stores, museums and of course the star fort. It only takes around 40 to 45 minutes by train from Amsterdam and roughly half an hour with car via A1. Naarden is one of the oldest town in the 't Gooi area in the Netherlands. The star fort was used during the World War II as a defense line, however I could not take a proper picture of the star fort, therefore here are some places that you might want to check out if you visit Naarden.

This is the Grote Kerk known as St. Vituskerk which architecture is marvelous with its painted wooden vaults. It is told that the ceiling of this church is the most beautiful out of it, therefore it is recommended to go inside the church. Note that there is a fee to go inside the church.

Built in 1601, the city hall has a unique design which represent the Dutch Renaissance.

Enjoying your day in this park will not be a bad idea since the scenery is magnificent!

I told you this city has antique stuff right? so here is one of the shop that is called "Mouthaan Antieke Uurwerken". It is located in Marktstraat 32, 1411 EA, Naarden. For those antique clock lovers, you can check this shop through the website http://www.mouthaanklokken.nl/ They open from Monday until Saturday and a super nice clock-maker will gladly welcome you once you visit this shop.

The above picture is the Utreechtse Poort (Utrecht Gate), which is one of the gate that is still survived after years. Access to the fortress is the main function of this gate back in 1877.

In addition, Vestingsmuseum is also one of the popular museum to visit in Naarden. So what are you waiting for? You should visit Naarden if you have a trip to the Netherlands or even to just have a day trip for your weekend plans! I assure you that you will not regret to visit this city, one of the preserved fortified towns you will ever see :)

Cheers,
Rona
