Exchange Year in Port Angeles
Hey Peeps!
This time I will described and explained my other home for a year, back when I was an exchange student in Port Angeles, Washington State. Port Angeles it is called. This small city with a great community lies in the Northwest of USA.
It is located in the Washington State with roughly 19,190 population in 2013. Previously, an important public figure, Victor Smith, interested in this city and succeeded to convince Abraham Lincoln to designate 3,520 acres of Port Angeles to be a purposeful federal reserve in naval and military.
Since the other city is officially designated by the government is Washington city, automatically Port Angeles becomes the "Second National City" and hence people started to come to this city. Unfortunately due to Smith's death, the interest in the area declined. Eventually a large scale of logging began and the economy in Port Angeles became better through the support of lumber mill as well as tourism.
Large ships such as cruise ships tend to anchor in the harbor as it provide deep enough anchorage for these ships. Ferry service is also provided here, with the purpose of transporting people that wanted to visit Victoria, British Columbia, Canada by crossing the strait if Juan de Fuca with MV Coho. The duration of the sailing takes around 90 minutes for one journey

Well as you can see, Port Angeles have a complete structure which started from the shore until the mountains at the top.
The Shore of Juan de Fuca Strait shown above. While the below picture is the Olympic Mountains, this photo is taken from the Hurricane Ridge which is the most accessible mountain area within Olympic National Park.
Not only hiking in the mountains, you can also sail with the boat in some lakes as shown on both above and below pictures.
Trail road is available in different places around Port Angeles, the prettiest one in my opinion is located in the shores of Lake Crescent.
To finish up, I present you guys with the scenery of dusk in Port Angeles. Enjoy!
Cheers,
Rona
